Plessey Semiconductors offers a new line of easy-to-use, robust, power management solutions for a wide variety of applications. Designed on Plessey's proprietary, state-of-the-art Bipolar process, the new line of Linear Regulators offers superior power density and industry leading, low noise performance.
All the LDOs are designed to stabilize with small, low ESR ceramic capacitors to reduce system-level manufacturing cost and improve control loop stability and transient response. The characteristics of high accuracy, low dropout for increased efficiency, small package footprint, and features such as thermal overload protection, safety current limits, and shutdown mode drastically reduce energy consumption. The output voltage is set either internally (0.5 – 5.0 Volts with 100mV increment) or externally to as low as 0.5V.
The entire product family is designed to operate with wide input voltage range of 1.7 – 12 Volts making the devices ideally suited for wide range of applications. The product family supports a wide range of load currents ranging from 0.5 – 3A. The key features are:
- Superior PSRR for high performance signal chain applications, typically 65 dB at 10KHz
- Low noise performance: 23 μV rms Designed for low input voltages down to 1.7 V without the need for a
second supply rail Low voltage dropout for increased energy efficiency
