We will be showcasing our developing technologies:

1. MicroLED Illuminator:

  • A Replacement of incumbent solutions used in AR/VR systems and pico-projectors.
  • A single component that replaces three discrete red, green and blue light sources and their associated optics

Plessey’s solution significantly simplifies the existing complex optical system by replacing it with a single light source and integrated micro-optical elements which is located before the relay lens that casts the light onto the DMD or LCoS.

  • Reduces space requirements by up to 40%
  • Provides a brighter source of light
  • In-turn, eliminating costly optical components whilst improving efficiency
  • Can be customised for optimal performance in each application

2. MicroLED emissive display:

A monolithic microLED emissive display solution which will be designed to completely replace the DMD. Including:

  • 1920×1080 monochrome addressable array, with a pixel pitch of 8 microns, running at 60 frames per second (fps) available in Q4 2018.
  • Followed by its first generation 960×540 RGB (wide colour gamut), 60fps, 0.7” (on the diagonal) array with a pixel pitch of 16 micron coloured pixel structured from 4 x 8 micron sub pixels available in Q1 2019.
